What is your name?

What is your dream role? Why?

Currently, it's Eddie Dean in the Dark Tower series. It's my favorite series of books, and his journey as a character is immense. But in reality, either the studio will F it up or Nat Cassidy will get the part because he's better than me.

What is the MOST special of all of your special skills?

Having dumb thoughts. I'm a pretty smart guy, but I can really have seriously DUMB thoughts and it plays really well in comedy. Ok, maybe I'm part dumb.

What was your first big performance opportunity? Tell us about it.

At the University of Arizona I got to play Prince Hal in Henry IV, parts 1 and 2. It's one of the best Shakespeare training companies in the world, and the talent and directors that I got to work with were incredible. They set the bar high and I just tried to keep up. I wish I could go back and do it again.

What is your go-to audition outfit? Why?

For commercials- jeans, a bright shirt, and a flannel over it. I guess layers are a thing. For VO- boxers and flipflops. For everything else, a nice shirt with horrible pit stains.

What role are you completely inappropriate for that you perform superbly in your shower and car?

Old Man. My VO agent is always telling me to stop recording the Old Man parts in auditions BUT I WILL NEVER STOP. Seriously, I do a good old man.

Favorite dance shoe?

Cowboy Boots.

Do you have any sort of ritual before an audition?

I eat pie for breakfast when I need an extra boost of good luck.

Where did you train in theatre? How has that affected you?

University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and Mountain View High School. They all have their merits as a young performer coming up, and I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for them all.

Favorite musical?

I only like musicals with monsters in them. So, Young Frankenstein.

Favorite straight play?

Ah jeez, come on. Macbeth? Because I've been manipulated by so many women.

Favorite book?

Wolves of the Calla

Do you have any performers that you admire or look up to? Why?

The cast of Arrested Development (including Carl Weathers) and Ian McShane. Because they say it like they mean it.

Who is your favorite non-theatre music artist?

Vampire Weekend still makes me feel happy and I need that sometimes.

What keeps you sane offstage?

Climbing and running up mountains. The natural world is the only thing that's real.

Worst thing about auditioning?

Theatre is:

where we'll return when the world has burned.

Where can people find out more about you online?
