What is your name?
What is your dream role? Why?
My dream role is absolutely Enjolras in Les Miserables. His passion is something to aspire to as a person and a performer, and I love all of the music he sings.
What's your MOST special skill?
I consider balloon-animal making to be the most special, just because I enjoy it the most!
What was your first big performance opportunity? Tell us about it.
What role are you completely inappropriate for that you perform superbly in your shower and car?
I love "Santa Fe" from Newsies, but am much too tall to play Jack Kelly.
Favorite dance shoe?
I love a good jazz flat!
Do you have any sort of ritual before an audition?
Nothing too dramatic - just drinking a lot of water and nervous peeing a lot.
Where did you train in theatre? How has that affected you?
I graduated with my BFA from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI in May of 2017. It is a great training program with professors that are skilled and genuinely care about their students. I had a great time and learned a lot, and felt very well prepared for my career upon graduation.
My favorite musical is Beauty and the Beast. I love the magic, characters, and storytelling, and playing Gaston has been one of my favorite acting experiences ever.
Favorite straight play?
Favorite play is definitely a tie between Pillow Man and Gruesome Playground Injuries. Very different plays, but both very engaging and dramatic.
The Book Thief
Do you have any performers that you admire or look up to? Why?
One of my best friends -- who I graduated with -- is someone who I really look up to. Her passion for the craft, and what she has sacrificed and continues to sacrifice in order to be an artist, is inspiring. Nobody works harder than her, and knowing that she continues to choose this career is an inspiration for me to work as hard as I need to to choose it as well.
Who is your favorite non-theatre music artist?
What keeps you sane offstage?
Staying connected with family and friends -- knowing who's made you who you are as a person and performer.
one of many exciting ways that storytellers can express themselves.
